Reviews
- I worked on this with Nick and Sam sadly Nick passed away a few years ago, he is so missed, but have been in contact with Sam and Howard and they are in the process of Remastering on Digital along with Three other Albums which are material written by them some 25yrs ago with another guitarist. Will update with info as things progress.
Thanks for the interest.
Regards to all Norman Tapp - Nice release no pun intended. Sort of has a indie feel with progressive rock undertones. All instrumental lots of organ, acoustic guitar and very nice phased e-guitar. Not really European or American sounding but a mix of both. I wish someone would re-release this on cd! Hello indie labels Burea B & Captain Trip would be a perfect home for a re-release!!
- I often wonder just how many obscure UK indie albums there were in the late 1970's and early 80's alongside the new-wave boom. Lots and lots certainly, and most of them minute pressings of 100 to 500, all destined to be rare and collectable today, no matter what the quality. Here's yet another by an unknown duo that has recently come to light, although I do recall possibly having seen it at the time!
A largely instrumental album of mutli-guitar moods and some electronics, I'm often reminded of the instrumental sections of Genesis tracks, Anthony Phillips albums, The Long Hello and such-like, and there's also a hint of European indie culture (i.e many such a French or German album of this ilk).
Overall though, it's a mite patchy, and not as good as some reviews would have you believe, but definitely well worth a listen!
