“30 years ago this week, The Whistle Song was the #1 Billboard Club record. 30 years later, it still endures. I wrote and recorded the demo of this song in about 20 minutes, after hearing Frankie play at the Redzone. It was inspired by his DJ set. While I was happy with it, I never imagined that it would have such success. Thank you to all who enjoy this tune. It holds a special place in my heart, for many reasons.” - Eric Kupper

in 1991 I got this in a DJ Record Pool. at the time I was spinnin 4 days a week mainstream and a New Wave Goth night plus DJing weddings. I thought it was weak and no commercial appeal. On rare occasion when I had a night off i went to hear House DJ's. Never heard them spin it. I gave my copy away a few years later only to search for and find a good copy by 2005. I released how good it was and by then I was spinning more House nights and less top 40. So glad I have a good copy.

i'd just got out of college and was going gett a degree in sound engineering in nyc. you could not escape this song that summer of '91. it was everywhere.

what makes it such a great song is its' simplicity. the melody, the beat are hot, and you have to whistle when you hear this song.
