Had word from Michael Mayer at Kompakt that: "Our intention is to re-issue all Gas albums over the course of this year. Königsforst should be ready in May and Pop in September - depending on the pressing plant's mercy."

One of my favorite albums of all time, but depressingly expensive :(

this album is truly a gem, so easy to get lost in the looped layers, this is what ambient psychedelic electronic music is meant to be... for me #4 and #7 keep me coming back to them repeatedly... a must have for anyone into bands like troum, dead voices on air, tinkertoy, boards of canada, and additionally has a certain hazy quality that would fit into the shoegaze sounds of bands like my bloody valentine and lovesliescrushing.

A beautiful album and one which has remained on my playlist ever since its initial release. Special mention must go to track 7, which at almost 15 minutes long is truly incredible. Like all the GAS tracks, this one is based on a single loop which is sustained for the entirety of the track, with subtle nuances which develop and shift as it progresses. Good repetition in music is a very difficult thing to achieve, since it is very easy to drift off and lose interest. In this case, the driving bassdrum and incredible atmosphere will keep you utterly absorbed from start to finish. Exceptional.

I would say this is the most impressive album ever. Its inexhaustible originality is just indescribable. This guy definetly has something unique in his sound. Second track by far is the strangest musical piece I've ever heard. Ultimate soundtrack to reality. MUST-LISTEN-TO !

This is one of the most haunting pieces of music I've heard. I'm not sure what my exact feelings are, but the previous reviewer is quite right - it puts you into sort of a dreamlike state. The music is quite peaceful, yet totally alien and emotionally ambiguous at the same time. I could interpret this as pleasantly blissful or eerily haunting depending on my state of mind, and that is a very unique quality.

gorgeous minimal loveliness. sexy cover too. it might seem that there's nothing going on, that might even be the point, yet it hard not to be affected by this music. wolfgang voigt at his best. autechre mix on his mike ink release "polka trax" on warp is a fine one too.
