Reviews
- This mix was my 1st introduction to IDM in last 90's and I still love it those days. Almost each used track is a classic and most of the sampled artists here are the best ones in Warp line up (only BOC is missing in fact). Mixing is just top notch as transitions are seamless and the tracks flow in as an "analog bubble bath".
- nearly 25 years on and this mix still rocks and I'm listening to it even more now as my 8 year old daughter loves it!
- I don't think I could do a better job of reviewing this than has gone before. Over 20 years on, I am starting to think this body of work won't be bettered in my lifetime. In a way I think that's quite sad. I'll find better individual tracks than I have now, and have new favourites, however I don't think there will ever be a better mix.
Hard to really say how good this is, it will re-set my mood to fantastic after a death in the family, it will make me realise humanities place in the universe, it will make me come up with solutions, it will make me zen for the week after, it will make me ride my bike so god damn fast, it makes me feel young again.
It isn't like you had to 'be there at the time' either, 'by following the simple directions in the manual and listening carefully to the record, you will find yourself dancing almost immediately' - This mix has been part of my life for almost 20 years now. It's been the soundtrack to everything from drugged up nights and blissful sunsets, to car crashes and cold turkeys. Somehow it seems to suit all of those things.
- Edited 7 years ago2014 and Still my favourite various artists/mixed album. huge nostalgia rush just seeing the cover art alone. a real classic, timeless gem. thanks for the good memories, Warp! x
- Does anyone know the origin of the record title "Blechsdöttir" ? Something to do with Björk surname (Guðmundsdóttir) ?
- Music released by Warp treated by the guys from Ninja Tune. One of the best electronic music mixes ever recorded and the quintessential guide to Warp in the 1990s.
- Edited 18 years agoA timeless set...eventhough it's predominetly what most would label simply as a set filled with "experimental" music...if u listen carefully, u can hear all the elements/genres of music placed together so carefully, and in a subtle manner, so it doesn't come off choppy...elements of jazz, hip-hop, house, techno, ambient, and electro all fuse here behind the music...a wise choice of records put in just the right places all coming from Warp's greatest artists.
- Seriously one of the best electronic mixes out there. But then again, when you have such a fine body of work to start with, and two more than able DJs at the helm, what do you expect?
Right up there with Coldcut's JDJ. - This album is breath taking from start to finish. The mixing is seamless, and the music is culled from warps finest moments. A real contender for the "Best Electronic Album of All Time " category.
