- Love records like this where the title track, for all its apparent controversy, is like a trojan horse for the assassin army that is the B2. Beat These is one of those tracks that'll throw a hard working DJ into an existential crisis when they hear another DJ play it well for their first time. Make you want to go home early and pout. Don't do that, though. You're still awesome.
- Edited 6 years agoI think this has aged really well, and gets a lot better the more you listen to it. It's not an easy listen the first few times but i do think the jittery nature of it starts to melt away. I like it more all the time. And he was a lot more varied with his productions back then.
- No one here is familiar with experimental music or what? Sheesh. 10000 feet over your heads! Swoosh! This has been a constructive comment brought to you by me.
- Edited 11 years agoDeserves a 0/5 actually. I understand the point of humor, but humor shouldn't be a main factor when a producer is trying to be serious with his productions. This reminds me a similar track in terms of "humorous" concept called The Belgica Wave - Filler. A track released on the familiar Belgian label Bonzai Records. The humorus thing is that the whole track is composed of a simple hardcore beat playing in the entire track with no other samples except a drum loop in the end but, the joke gets old and stupid fast. Same with "Any Other Styles".
