They should recreate the synth tracks and release a new version. The world needs it- Is there a tape rip without the noise reduction anywhere? I'd much rather have a bit of good old tape hiss than the god-awful high-frequency FFT brain-cheesegrater shitshow I've heard in all the available rips and reissues. It is an absolute *crime* that Yamuna Tira Vihari cannot be heard in its original state (with synths).
- Does anyone have any idea what synth she is using in this recording?
But where is the remastered version of the original release?
Originally the Impulse! press release said there would be a "Deluxe Edition" that would feature both versions of this album. The original, and then the Ravi version. Hoping that is still the case. Quite disappointing if they only reissue this as a completely altered thing.- Apparently there's an official and remastered version coming later this year through Impulse!
"This summer, Impulse! Records will release a true rarity, Turiya Sings, by Alice Coltrane. Turiya Sings is a record of devotional chants recorded in the early 1980s at her ashram – the only place it was ever available. It is Alice Coltrane at peak spirituality and features her playing organ and chanting.
A version of this music was released on cassette in 1982, with synth and strings added, but never released after. For the first time ever, Turiya Sings will be released in its purest form – just organ and voice –as Alice’s son and reissue producer Ravi Coltrane has long wanted to do. This was the wish of her son and jazz musician Ravi Coltrane who heard the original tapes. Turiya Sings (Deluxe Edition) will feature both versions of this spiritual recording – both remixed, remastered and released for the first time digitally and physically on CD and LP."

I also think the unofficial LP pressing is weak. But one can still hear the beauty in the songs, as distorted as they are.
