Soul to Squeeze would sound amazing on this album. This album is still fine without it but it would sound so much better with it.

hope to own this someday. i know theres mention that the CB cut reissue sounds better than this OG. but to me, an OG is an OG. hopefully lady luck will be smiling on me soon 🌶

There is a 2020 EU re issue that is physically a great pressing and has fantastic sound quality. I have only compared it with a 2012 US and 2012 EU re issue that are both very good all round but it sounds flawless.

i got variant 2 Alsdorf 759 926681-1-A 4

such a rich sounding record. so many little things sound so good on here that get cloudy in the digital, the jaw harp on "give it away", john's vocals on "righteous & he wicked", the hand drums at the end of "my lovely man"

also the "lalalala" from Sir Psycho Sexy sound like John is right there in my speaker singing it to me. It sounds so present it's crazy.

Thank you Germany for this press. Alsdorf is god. Turn this one up

This is a killer sounding record. The sound is big, strong, warm, crisp and well transparent. I think that audiophiles would be happy with this pressing.

Could anyone please help me out?
I have all the characteristics listed here (inlcuding printed-innersleeves), but my runout-groove etchings do not match any of the above options.
Side A: 9
Side B: 7
Side C: /\ 4
Side D: nothing...
I could not find any other entry matching these criteria. Could this be yet another variant then..??

This is the best sounding version I have heard so far. I haven’t heard the US promo copy yet, but this pressing beats the 2012/2020 pressings. The remasters are brighter and have audible tape degradation, specifically with the drums. This pressing seems to have a more monstrous bass on some songs and overall this pressing has a natural sound to it. The remasters are still very good and leagues better than the digital version. However, if this is one of your favorite albums, hunting this pressing down is worth it.

Edit: I own both the first pressing and US promo now. Both are fantastic. The promo has a bit more bass, which, in my opinion, makes Under the Bridge and I Could Have Lied a little TOO bassy. However, it makes songs like Suck my Kiss and Naked in the Rain the best they have ever sounded. The first pressing on my system seems to be the more natural sounding of the two overall but I love both and will keep them in my collection.
