If you have been looking for some tribal tinged Classic Goa Trance, then this release by Medicine drum is one of the answer's. Having traversed most of the classic Goa Trance library, I can say from experience, that there is not a lot of tribal based releases in the Classic Goa Trance universe. Surprising and disappointing to me because when you mix tribal with Goa Trance, you always have something very special. Medicine drum managed to create some very great tracks in the sub genre of tribal Goa Trance in their first 2 releases and on those 2 releases there are probably 5 tracks that I would say are must haves in a proper Classic Goa Trance collection. Minaret and Beyond the Threshold are 2 of my favorites off of this release with Minaret being one of my favorite Goa Trance tracks period. The opening chant/Call to prayer in Minaret, along with that middle eastern horn sample is so beautiful. Then a beautifully toned Tabla riff comes in before the track takes off on its raw analog journey. The absolute perfect conclusion occurs when the opening chant and horn returns at the end of the track........Perfection!!! Medicine drum is an important part of the history of Goa Trance and my only complaint is that they didn't make more. But for what they did create........A very sincere Thank you!!

There is a Vinyl promo release that has several of these tracks on it FYI. No Vinyl for Minaret or Beyond the Threshold.
