This album has always been a hodgepodge in the CD world. It was initially only released in Japan and omitted "Cader Idris" (boo, that's my favorite track!). It was finally released on CD in Canada circa 2001, and although it restored "Cader Idris", it also eliminated some of the onstage banter and crossfaded some of the original album sides, which means neither CD is realy complete. But to be fair, if you own both versions, you might be able to create a more complete two-disc set of Circles in the Stream. How it would work is that you'd have to extract the Japanese CD to your iTunes and use an editing program like CDex to "cut out" "Cader Idris" and its applause from the Canadian CD. With the Japanese CD rip, you can splice in "Cader Idris" between the outro of "Mama Wants to Barrelhouse" and the introduction of the band members. Your mileage may vary.

Contains one of Bruce Cockburn's most complex and powerful pieces of solo fingerstyle guitar work, "Deer Dancing Around A Broken Mirror," which few have been able to approximate on guitar. A superbly gifted guitarist and lyricist, this live recording attests to his ability to focus and carry out almost an entire show without obvious error. In addition to "Deer Dancing ... ," this is the only place to find "Red Brother Red Sister." Brilliant album.
