Reviews
- After us The White Stripes in 2001 were final breakthrough, suddenly appeared all over the world similar primitive garage rockbandjes. White Stripes-one of the best ' cloning ' is from Denmark-based duo The Raveonettes. Although the number of agreements almost laughable (of boy/girl-occupation to the black/white/red cd covers), say they are not influenced by brother and sister White. As examples they prefer The Cramps, The Everly Brothers, The Velvet Underground, Phil Spector and The Jesus & Mary Chain. Also have looked closely at Danish film scene around Lars Von Trier. This group of filmmakers suggested in 1995 the Dogma manifesto on; some basic rules for creating movies. In the ' Raveonettes-manifesto ' provides the following main rules: a) each number is in Bb minor written b) we use up to three chords per song and c) we make no songs over three minutes. The result is a short cd (thirteen tracks in just thirty-three minutes) with energetic, but at the same time rattling garage rock that is full of the feedback-distorted guitars, clumsy vocals and dull drum machine beats. Nice!
