Life-altering. Dangerously unassuming. Perfect capture of a space. Only the right instruments for the right sounds; otherwise, it's space and silence. So simple yet such striking impact. So subtly awe struck, such attitude and indifference to the wonder that is on display. The best vocals, the best use of acoustic guitar, the best drum sound, the best rendering of an electric as a sound effect, the best, the best, the best... Between this and the follow-up, Too Many Days Without Thinking, Swell's two best albums, two of the best 90s albums and... well, basically, it just keeps on going... But less is more, as Swell understands, so, despite a decade of love for this album, I'll honour its principles and say no more.
But,... is that important?
