- "Niche" is one of the eternal Convextion blueprints with that endlessly, deep, wide and warm convextion trademark sound. Essential, essential.
- I'm not surprised this is getting a repress , I picked this up from Duffy at Spinadisc Coventry ,it's a double header of deepest moody tech you just gotta have
- Edited 13 years agoWell since my colleague here already did his best to describe side A of this magnificent record, I'll try to do the flipside, and my favourite track on this two tracker ep.
Well then. To me this is just a perfect example of how hauntingly beautiful techno can be. I love this track so much. It's melancholic, moody, introvert, soulful, all covered under a nice low fi dusty filter... there's these slowly stretched detroity string theme that's constantly being surrounded by a nervous clicking thingy and a jumpy bassline but still the overall atmosphere is so peaceful and forgiving... ;)
I could go on and on. Techno at its best. Play this if you want to impress a date, show her how soulful machines can be... if she doesn't get it... her loss.
And... when the moment is right and the people are ready, it might even set a dance floor on fire! I promise... you'd want to be there when it does.
check this record out. I'm a proud owner. 5/5! - Personaly the track Ebulience embodies for me the word Techno. The ever changing haunting and hissing sounds combined with a forcing ongoing rhythmic kick gets you in instant hypnosis. There is so much anger in Ebulience. Near the end there as a break and it's like some being is searching and calling out for something and when it gets no recall the Anger starts off again. Warping beautiful insect sounds flying through the whole track. This must be the feeling when some one with a "cold turkey" feels something crawling under his skin. This track gets you by the throat and crawls under your skin forever. This is one the most uncompromising tracks of Convextion. The track Niche is a lovely delicate textured track with some detroitish strings singing around. The lush end floats away like the end of a beautifull summernight. Minimalistic techno at it's best and how it should be! When you will hear this you will be addicted forever. Listening at own risk.
