Show All 28 Reviews- Welp, today’s the day - Queen Elizabeth II, the subject of this song and subsequently one of the rarest records ever, has passed away at the age of 96.
Wonder if today’s news sees another copy of the A&M withdrawn release pop up for sale or even sells, setting a new price record. - Actually 25 copies of the 1000s pressed by A&M were “salvaged”. There are 1993 bootlegs. Other than that the 88 members who state they have an original simply DO NOT
- A buyer paid £15,652* for a MINT original, one of the 9 that exist, together with A&M correspondence and proof of provenance, at Wessex Auctions - 1 November 2019 (* including buyers premium). I think this is the most ever paid for this. Was on BBC.
- My recollection is, there were only a handful of copies for many years but when A&M closed down (I've just looked the label up on Wikipedia and it ceased operations in 1999) more copies - perhaps 10 - were located and some of the staff being laid off were given one copy each. A friend of mine, a dealer and an expert who had always wanted a copy, was put in touch by a reliable contact and paid £1,000. That seemed to be the going rate at the time - most of these copies were sold immediately. It didn't seem like such a good investment at the time, but clearly it was.
- I love the way 52 People really believe they have an Original A&M pressing?!
Considering it's meant to be the Rarest (Most sort after) Punk single in the world,
i find it very hard to believe 52 people own one on here!
Genuine originals have the serrated anti-slip necklace and 7284 written twice on the B-Side runout, one above the other ! - Edited 4 years agoBeware A&M bootlegs of GOD SAVE THE QUEEN/NO FEELINGS. The bootleg preeses contains the VIRGIN-ALBUM-VERSIONS in bad quality. ONLY THE 7" of 35TH ANIVERSARY BOX of NEVERMIND THE BOLLOCKS contains the the right versions, if you interested in a repress of this record. The A&M versions of the songs are a bit faster and have a tougher mix than the VIRGIN versions.
- Edited 4 years agoBe careful if you're a potential buyer and think you have a genuine original. There are some wicked and clever fraudsters out there. I got taken for a ride in an auction (over 60 bids) and ended up paying £8502 and NOT receiving the correct item from a fraudster called Angela Gale.
