almost on the verge of desperate to figure out where the vocal is from on this - no credit as far as i can tell - is it a sample? is it original? anyone have any clues?

PFM mix is so so good.

All four tracks conjour up thoughts of Cookin' Records (ltj bukem label stable.) How they missed out on this i'll never know, It would've made a nice addition to their catalogue of releases in my humble opinion. Either smoking at home or dans la dance, it's sure to get a nod of appreciation and/or the thumbs up from all beat chuggers.

Brown Sugar is mellow trip-hop at its absoulte BEST. Beautiful rolling groove of a rhythm, so sweet a sound, so mood inducing, takes you off to dreamland and you may never want to return. In a perfect world this track would have a tiny bit less of the woman talking, but this is still one of my all time favorites.
