This year the album turns 30 years old and this album has already become one of those imperishable records whose age is more than the age of half of the listeners. An album like "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" cannot be overestimated, yet it is one of the fundamental genre recordings - release that, during the lifetime of the authors, was taken apart for quotations. Darkthrone didn't just record an original underground album, they provoked a chain reaction that is still gaining momentum.

One of the latest editions came into my hands quite recently, as far as can be judged, the press from 2021 or even 2022, because it is supplemented with a promo flyer advertising "Eternal Hails" and other Peaceville releases. There are no additional identification marks on it, but clearly this is a regular reprint. The design is absolutely standard - single sleeve and printed insert, nothing extra (except an advertising flyer). Heavy vinyl, sounds great both in terms of mastering and playback. It makes no sense to look among the regular editions for the press of a particular year (of course, except for the very first one), they are all at about the same quite high level. Watching by the number of additional presses, this classic album is in damn high demand, even in our world of streaming services and youtube-channels. Perhaps a band or label could make some special vinyl-edition on the occasion of the anniversary...

It sounds great you're gonna wanna cut some of that treble/high end frequency back typical of oldschool 90's bm. The first bm Darkthrone album & it rips just like the cd version does

Mine has a Peaceville Catalogue page with an ad for Eternal Hails on it. No listing for a regular vinyl pressing after 2009.

For some reason, the colours on my cover appear darker than they should be
