Reviews
- I think it sounds great, but the packaging is a joke. I'm tempted to try and find a used copy of this album just to have a proper jacket to store it in.
- Edited 3 years agoOn my copy the second half of both sides of the first disc have sibilance, and the inside of side 3 has weird low-level mid-high noise all over it and sibilance on the last track, while side 4 is perfect. Not too bad, but disappointing.
- A/B test to the OG press and hear it, this doesn't sound good, very low volume and very little done for dynamics, whomever cut the lathe for this needs to have a better reference, that said, for a collector's piece it's a nice to have.
- I have to agree that this pressing sounds excellent.... I don't care what the toys say I would say something if it sounds like crap
- in fact, this edition sounds much better than the edition of Music On Vinyl
I listened to both versions . - Getondown is a joke. The audio quality is appaling. They are a market for hipsters, and are a detriment to the hip hop industry. They will keep reissuing a "limited edition" item if there is a demand. They have reissued the purple tape like 5 times. What a joke. If your lucky they will call the re-reissue a 2nd pressing. Most of the time they don't even do this. It dilutes any value your record may have. Stick with Music on Vinyl for reissues. They are consistent with their quality.
Obviously you can't got wrong with the OG press!
