Notes
Issued with black & white disc labels, unlike A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory. Current sealed copies are likely A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory, which has NRP and RE3 in runouts.
Recorded and mixed at Battery Studios, Greene Street Studios and Soundtrack Studios. "Show Business" and "Everything Is Fair" programmed at Jazzy Jay's Studio. Additional engineering at Battery, Greene Street and Soundtrack.
Original 1996 copy gets mixed up with 2016 MRP pressing. Original 1996 pressing incorrectly states on label that “Butter” is 2:13 but is 3:39.
Management/Direction: Chris Lighty for Violator Management

- Does anyone know if there are versions of this pressing that do not have the Ⓤ markings in the A/B side runouts?
- I always thought I had the 2016 pressing, but it’s actually this 1996 version. I had to recheck the runouts. The first disc on my copy is badly warped and I remember it arriving in the mail that way. Luckily it plays fine and sounds great.
- that pressing is great. Much better than the recent reissues beinig sold under this entry.
Cant someone stop these sellers selling inferior copies here under the same entry? - I’ve got the 2016 copy and it sounds great, no problems whatsoever. It did come with an extra side A/B though for some reason

- This pressing sounds great, the bad reviews must be confused people with the 2016 pressing... i mean look when all of them were posted lol
- The easiest way to distinguish this pressing from the others is a typo on the back where it states that Butter runs as long Rap Promoter (2:13)
- Not sure why so many people can't see that this entry is for the 1996 pressings, not the current/new millennium ones.
- Just bought this pressing and I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised with it! My pressing didn't have any of the glaring issues pointed out by the previous reviewers. Not a perfect pressing by any means, some parts did sound a lil distorted at times but overall a very solid repressing! No skips and very minimal surface noise, even during the quiet sections. My only gripe with this is the relatively dull packaging. Plain paper inner sleeves with no pictures or inserts.
