I love this mix and gets better with repeat listens.
CD1 is the club mix but it is far mellower and varied than you might expect. The mixing is precise but very short and sweet to allow Lars to cram many tracks in, which isn't a bad thing. Lars only plays each track for about 3 minutes but it's deep, minimal, funky, hard, uplifting it covers so many variations of house and the deeper side of techno.
CD2 is very chilled and laidback and more experimental showing Lars' love of deepness and sweet soaring strings. It is very happy and full of good vibes. It changes mood and tempo constantly keeping you drawn in.
Loved Funk D'Void since buying his early releases on Soma and will continue to follow him. Diabla showed underground producers you can have a hit with an amazing underground record and that techno doesn't have to be hard, aggressive music for geeks in basic channel or Jeff Mills T-shirts. It can and should be sexy, memorable and popular.
Funk D'Void I salute you sir, keep on pressing on :)

CD2 absolute blew me away. The best mix cd I have bought in a long long time. Highly recommend it!

Another word of praise for this release. When I listened to the promo edit on SoundCloud I loved parts of it, but wasn't sure how they would fit together in a coherent set.

Listening to the mixes, I'm certain of one thing: top class here. Yet again.

Balance mixes seem to bring out the personal, flavoured touch from each contributor and it isn't a coincidence most releases have the person behind them right on the cover art. It's about the person, their skill and their tastes. Nothing less, nothing more.

cd 1 is polished, elegant, delves a bit deeper in places (Track 7, DJ Tonka - Orca (Dub)) only to take a turn to set off for a smooth, elegant glide through open landscapes (Track 9, Soy Mustafa - Return Of Annunaki (John Tejada Cinematic Edit)) and has the power of keeping you both cosy and interested, without hitting any rough edges. It has that wonderful, elusive quality of building up your interest as it glides along. The moment Track 11 slides in (Lost Forever In A Happy Crowd, Exercise One & Mathew Jonson) and the uplifting and freeing sensation it brings, is about as warming and rewarding as it gets. Beautiful.

Moments like this appear several times in the second half of the mix, as it lays down its tracks for your introspective musings (Track 13, Delano Smith - Wires), which flower into another warm, sunlit moment in Track 14 (Sam Matters - Weight Off My Mind). With your faith in humanity, and good mixing, confirmed, you have plenty of time and space to enjoy the sweet aftertastes with soothing female vocals (Track 15, Chymera - The Chase (Steve Rachmad Edit)) and a generous, gradual, exhilarating ride towards the end and into the horizon.

Stay tuned for cd2...

Gotta counterpoint the 1st review. I view this as a compilation first, and as Mix-disc second. Looking at it as a Funk D'Void "tastemaker" comp. in a sense, I have to say there is a great deal of cool, and in some cases truly beautiful music here, and some of it I might never have found otherwise. An eclectic mix of deep house, techno, ambient, and tech-house tracks are on display here. It is worth noting, I bought the US release MP3 album, that includes all the songs unmixed, and listened to them first. I care a lot less about the "continuous mix", than how the songs stack up individually, though I'm sure others would disagree, and that's fine. I came away from it feeling my money was incredibly well spent.
Highlights: "Can U Sing"; "Headroom"; "Waiting For"; "Dark Journey (Toby Tobias...)"; A Very Different World (Funk D'Void Remix)"; "Only With Your Eyes"; "Wires"; "Olmec My Brother"; "Assassin (Funk D'Void Remix)"; "Introduction (Funk D'Void Remix)"; and many more top-tier tracks.

After a few listens, this seemed nothing more than average to me. Both discs are downtempo in style, never banging it out, and I was bored out of my mind. Definitely one of the most disappointing mixes in the series - I have no desire to play this mix ever again. After all, tech house is very hit or miss.
