Reviews
- Edited 15 years agoA lot of fuss has been made about this duo recently thanks to their Booka Shade guise, but if you want to know what these guys are really capable of, this is the release to check out.
Noom 17 marked a bit of a departure for Noom at the time. There doesn't seem to be a 303 in sight, and this is more techno oriented than the stuff Noom were releasing at the time, but make no mistake, this rocks.
Out of the two mixes of 'The Homecoming' here, the Original is the best. It features thumping tough beats fused with squawking animal noises and all sorts of rattling noises that won't be found anywhere else. In terms of techno it lies somewhere between tribal and spacey but like all the best Noom releases is best suited to the hardest of trance floors. Indeed, this is an impossible track to describe; you'll just have to listen to it instead.
In an interview with Muzik magazine to promote his debut album, Commander Tom listed 'The Homecoming' as one of his 10 favourite tracks of all time, the only Noom release in his list.
