Reviews
Show All 22 Reviews- As someone who owns a 1998 pressing and the (currently) new 2022 Anniversary box set, this remains the best pressing of this essential album.
While all three sounds good, this one has the best sound when it comes to the drums/percussion/beats. The mastering job on this pressing really just pushes it the extra step and this album deserves it!
If you’re reading this, you already know this is one of the best records of its decade & (imo) the Beasties’ finest hour. Do yourself a favor and pick this pressing up! - Beware of sellers passing off the 2022 pressing as the 2009. The 2022 pressing does not have a hype sticker or the download card that came with the 2009 pressing. I’ve purchased two copies in a row advertised by the sellers as a 2009 pressing and both were 2022. The printing is also not as good as the 2009 press. The labels on both copies had either wear or uneven printing right out of the jacket, brand new.
- This is a phenomenal pressing. Thankfully, I was able to pick up a copy pretty cheap, compared to the price it is now. Crystal clear with just the right amount of bass and treble. Thick, thick cut vinyl too.
- The definitive pressing of this album.
It’s so great sounding, it’s almost criminal. Glad I have one of these. If you want to own Check Your Head, try to find THIS one. - Beautiful sounding press, so much better than my original CD I’ve had for more years than I’d like to admit. Deep Bass, Vocals don’t overpower, Funky Boss and Pass the mic have never sounded this damn good!
- INCREDIBLE sounding pressing. The depth of each instrument and vocals are insane. It's like listening to the album for the first time. My disc 1 has a slight warp, but inaudible. Was happy to score a sealed one... dont snooze on this pressing. Wish the same could of been said about the Hello Nasty reissue...
- This is a great pressing of this album and I really enjoyed listening to it. The Beastie Boys' official website is even selling it for only $24.98 right now, but be warned, the package they sent it in was creased and creased the cover as well
- Time For Livin on my copy has no lyrics at all like the whole thing is missing anyone else have that issue ? Other than that it plays great I've had mine since 2016
