This was the first 7" I ever bought, it wasn't in '85 when it was released but it wasn't too far after that. I had no idea who Husker Du was, I just liked the cover because it reminded me of the cover of the Rolling Stone's album "Goat's Head Soup"... but anyway, I bought it and took it home and put it on my record player and was blown away. The tracks are so short and so powerful, "Makes No Sense At All" just had that great hook in the song and you couldn't resist it. This is what got me into this style of indie rock/punk and led me right into getting into old school emocore like Rites Of Spring and Fugazi and into punk music as well. This 7" has been everywhere with me, my copy is all tattered and torn but the record still plays perfectly for me! This track is from the Flip Your Wig album but if I had to recommend just one Husker Du album then it would be Zen Arcade... and it's just my opinion but it sounds alot better on vinyl than it did on the cd releases that came later.
