Show All 11 Reviews- I have a beat up old copy but it still sounds amazing - what a debut - I remember trading for it with some singles and it was already pretty damaged by the time I got it. After a clean though it still plays pretty well!
- It’s crazy that a 40+ year old record sounds better than any of the remastered efforts of the last 20 years. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the first batch of CDs but I’ve heard the deluxe double CD one, and the card digipak option, and can’t say I was bowled over by either.
So, get this version if you’re swaying between vinyl and CD.
Mind you, there’s some great bonus tracks on the deluxe. - Album muito bom e com essência punk (óbvio). As letras também são boas, tendo em vista as críticas sociais e narrativas pessoais da cantora.
- Just picked up a US reissue GHS 24046 and am happy with the pressing... I had the original UK pressing back in the day, but cannot really tell if this is better / worse.
- Edited one year agoFantastic debut album, no filler here just 10 tracks of punk/proto post-punk goodness. UK original pressing is the way to go here, I have a NM clean and glossy copy and it sounds phenomenal. Deep, punchy drums and bass, Siouxsies vocals are wonderfully detailed and crisp, and the guitar work sounds fantastic as well. All-around great-sounding pressing, I absolutely suggest an OG over one of the new represses especially as these are LOUD and the represses (at least my copy of Juju), gets distorted at higher volumes. 10/10, excellent album and an equally awesome pressing. This will be on my heavy rotation.
- I have a copy with a matte jacket ( some nicks and water damage in one corner)and glossy inner sleeve ( slight water damage in same corner. )Brilliant album musically, plays with minimal surface noise. I’ve owned it since maybe 1984.
- My copy matches one of the matrix runout listed above Ʊ (drawn as a lyre) POLD 5009 B // 2 E UT 1 1 Ʊ 4, but not the other.
Ʊ (drawn as a lyre) POLD 5009 A // 2 E UT 1 4 6. Also my copy does have a printed inner sleeve with lyrics - UK pressing of Siouxsie's first album is definitely the way to go. All of the punk noise is there, without unnecessary distortion. Crank up "Suburban Relapse" or "Carcass" and remember how good it sounds to be bad.
- I have two copies of the first issue https://www.discogs.com/Siouxsie-And-The-Banshees-The-Scream/release/404853
they both seem to have the correct matrix numbers.
One has a glossy outer sleeve and no inner the other a matt outer and a printed inner.
It seems the inner could have been lost? but which is the correct outer sleeve?
Cheers
