- Gavin Froome’s debut, <I>Mobile Villager</I>, has the deep tech-house sound that makes you smile. And it should: his production is smooth, and the grooves are plenty. “Five & a Half” is sure to get you in a happy mood and keep you there; “Malibu” is a trip to California without the cost of a plane ticket, while “Closer to Leaving” takes the BPMs down a couple notches. “It Is Time” has it all: the sweet melody and the hard-hitting beats. My favorite track, however, is “Blue Collar,” which goes from a deep house track with a minor key piano line into a stomping nu-disco track. It’s quality, and so is this album.
