Reviews
- Mountain of Ash is the stand out track from this (as observed by previous reviewers) raw as fuck EP; Funnily enough it's the one track that utilises a much more subdued kick drum than all of the other tracks. The riff, as noted, is inspired by Mark Broom aka. Lighter Thief's Zippo King Two - a high octane tribal basher, but here MPIA3 turns into a foreboding acidic growl that slides and pushes its way through the track. Also kudos for the 2001 vocal sample - a lovely touch.
- I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the label attached to the random Youtube of this track that popped up on my feed. I knew R&S was back in business and trying to find it's feet, but with this they seem to have finally managed to stand up released a serious slab of vinyl back out on the streets. This is the first good R&S record in longer than I care to remember. There is a definite shift in the air with this release.
Perhaps the old Stallion may well have some spunk in it still. Who knows, digging through crates at the local record store might yield surprises again. My body is certainly ready.
