Here we go again… about a half a year after the release of the Dublex Inc. album ‘Eight Ears’, the quartet is back with a collection of amazing remixes. Newcomer Paul Yassin - just twenty-two years young - delivers a brilliant peak time mix that transcends funky house and dark tech breaks and flaunts the technical advancement of this engineer whiz. Yassin shows his deft hand delivering the sounds that we know like those of phenomenon’s Aphex Twin or Basement Jaxx, so watch out for this guy in the years to come. He is eight ears personified!!!
Motorcitysoul (Infracom) picked ‘Boogie Boil’ and the result is a driven Acid House version based on the magnificent Jon Lucien bassline. This spacey and somewhat nostalgic mix will have clubbers tripping on its classic early 90s drum and synth sounds and patterns. Rocks every time!
Last but not least Ruben Garcia AKA Watch TV of Hi Top Recordings, Madrid, remixes ‘She’ll Stay’. Ruben took punchy horns and the vocals of Wayne Martin to create a hard-hitting Funky Breaks mix that shows a great understanding of all that is Dublex Inc. Brassy!
This remix EP is part two of a new cover design series (the first of which was NYC’s DJ Angola’s ‘Rock this’ EP) consisting of five pieces, limited to 1000 copies each, worldwide. Design buffs who no doubt keep a keen eye on the Pulver aesthetic will notice this time that the graphic element is replaced with artist portraits which were always hidden in the original Pulver house bag sleeve – A new direction in the artwork and a new cover series that will have collectors really excited… Even the keenest eye might spot the impressive concept if all five covers to the series are placed in the right order – though you might need eight eyes to get it.
The idea of the front side of the cover is the artist in the studio and the back side is the artist in their natural environment. You will see we took photos of all of our artists in their native cities of Stuttgart, Berlin, New York City, Schwabisch Gmund, and Budapest.
The original prints are 1.5 metre x 1.5 metre photographs, part of an exhibition that will be featured in some of the cities mentioned. When and where will be announced soon – keep tuned to www.dublex-inc.com and www.pulver-rec.com for more info.
We wish you lots of fun with the new Dublex Inc. remixes and the new artwork.
