I like the 80s cassette quality of it. This shit is HOT

Just a quick response to those who complain about the quality- its not a rip of 1982 italo vinyl or anything. His technique is to use a tascam 4 track cassette recorder and late 8s early 90s hardware, the dirt is part of the overall vibe. OK - the cassette hiss is over the top...my nakamichi don't sound like that. Also it was originally a self released cassette so unlikely to have been well mastered. Add to that, he actively tries to distort and overdrive to cassette, again part of the sound. It would sound half as good without. YMMV ;-)

I was hoping to play this record more often, and rip mp3's of it, but the sonics are really bad. A shame, because the music is actually quite nice.

It almost sounds as if these mixes were printed onto a cassette tape. If that is the case? WHY?

This record would sound a lot better if it were mastered well. There is a lot of noise and distortion in the mix.

Pretty good tracks though. An artist to keep an eye on. I'm not sure that I would bill this strictly as synth-funk, though. There is a definite deep house influence going on as well as Detroit techno. A good blend of styles for those into stuff like Marcellus Pittmann, Floating Points, etc.
