Raging Rockers – Jungle Radio

This is a very fun 12 inch! "Jungle Radio" is an interesting blend of Ska and Hardcore. It samples the iconic "hardcore junglist!" vocal, alongside "On My Radio" by The Selecter, and the ska rhythm works surprisingly well with the tight Hardcore breakbeats! There's one part where towards the end, everything cuts out apart from some soloed string chords, but then the stab sequence from earlier returns, and suddenly, they combine perfectly! Then, all the elements from before slowly reappear, as the song builds up to a satisfying end!

On the flipside, "Home Boy" is a thumping four-on-the-floor Hardcore tune that's surprisingly fast for its time. It contains one repeated vocal alongside some rolling breakbeats, and it goes through some interesting breakdowns before a chord sequence is introduced. There isn't so much to this one, and it clocks in at barely 4 minutes, but that's a good thing as it doesn't repeat itself too much. I'm surprised this record hasn't gotten more attention!
