Reviews
- Yeah, it would be great to see a repress of this soonish. What would be even better is a special edition with unreleased material from around that time, like cuts from Untilted live shows.
- Vinyl re-press is ridiculously overdue........ Been waiting ever since the OG copies initially dried up. :(
- Together with ""Confield", this is the pinnacle of Autechre for me (thus far). Just abstract enough not to bore, and just accessible enough not to be weirded out. It's almost endlessly rewarding, with lots of phantom melodies and easter eggs imbedded in the music.
And "Ipacial Section" is one of my all-time favorite pieces of music. I'm not sure what happened that day in the studio, but in the second half of the track you can hear an actual angel singing amidst the onslaught of relentless beats, gloriously unfazed by the mayhem of collapsing buildings, jumbled telephone lines and possessed TV sets around it, the gently glowing eye of the storm or perhaps the root cause of all the turmoil. Either way, it is really quite amazing. - This is Autechre's best work. It takes a while to grow on you, but when it does, it stays with you. Highly recommended.
- This is where it all came together. Autechre's best album. The perfect representation of their body of work in my opinion.
- Only album I've ever seen where the 4 flavors of digital releases all have different color covers from each other. The background is silver on the CD, and entry for the version I have has the wrong color cover. Started comparing submitted covers for different CD editions, and the few that got the color right (un-auto-corrected by bad scanner software) have bad moire lines. Finally resorted to looking at the digital versions and each one is a different shade, none of them matching the CD cover.
Can someone please scan the silver front cover to the CD edition? I don't have a scanner or a camera, otherwise I would do it. - One of autechre’s most hard hitting album & most crazy i think. While i didnt think of it much when i first heard it, now i think it is one of the most solid album in autechre’s discography. Seems to be linked from confield to draft to this. Sheer digital madness.
