- I want to get another copy to learn to play doubles on the burner vocal COMMON AND SYSTEM WORK
but my 53 yr old arthritic hands are struggling w that someone please talk me into it - Edited 2 months agoBlack moon rising, I can't help thinking it takes heavy influence from r-tyme - illusion, which isn't a bad thing by any means.
Black moon rising is almost rushy, like a bouncy techno breakdown, proper ecstasy inducing stuff, so lovely and amazing. - Does anyone's copy have small pressing marks on A2 and B1 that causes ticks? Wondering if it's a pressing issue or just my copy.
- Black Moon Rising is a perfect balance, almost contradictory in how the unmistakably crisp and defined Detroit techno sounds are tempered by the melancholic synth and melody. The contradiction continues in that the effect is completely uplifting and nestles amongst far edgier and harder edged releases from the label at the time...
A truely special release. Timeless. - Anyone ever noticed just before half way through Black Moon Rising there's is a bit rumble where the needle struggles to stay in the groove? Both my copies are the same. Pressing is quite off centre on the A side on both too.
- All the tracks on this 12" are prime examples of Detroit techno at it's finest, but the track that does the most for me is "System Work". With a bassline that doesn't quit it makes a great tune to drive to !
- Edited 12 years agoWhile techno can at times feel too hard or too mechanical, Scan 7 manages to inject a classic soulful feel into "Black Moon Rising".
- Edited 18 years agoFor me this is the mostimportant record I have in my collection, every one of the tracks on this 12 are out of this world. Black Moon Rising is the pick of the bunch with it's almost melancholy feel, real lo-fi production on this just adds to the whole package. I have some great memories around this record, track it down if you can - a super must.
- Edited 19 years agoFour brilliant techno tracks! Black Moon Rising (the track itself) is stylistically brilliant, especially for 4x4 techno. The synth stabs and the way that they complement the acid lead, all while being pushed along thanks to a healthy bassline. It's the type of track that embodies techno. System Work is also a brilliant track with vocals that seem out of phase, but push the track along through its own quirky but driving melody. Trackmaster Lou really builds great tracks, and this is proof.
