Reviews
- B2 Get Bouncy 5:36... I heard (DJ) Warlock drop this in the mix on a pirate radio from back in the day.....Killer tune!... The record cover is hilarious too and so wrong its right! ?...
- The Original Mix is a solid techno track, very much in the '91-'92 sound more associated with Belgium.
The Syrynx Mix appears to be pandering to the Poing hype of the time, though. Very cheesy and very embarrassing.
It's definitely all about the Binnenweg Mix of Amen, as Danieltechno says below. A brutal distorted kick smashes your ears throughout the track, along with that Eastern vocal and a few very tasty hardcore riffs. Some real tight percussion helps keep the rhythm intense. No doubt this is one of the early classics of Gabber, before it got too fast & bombastic.
Special mention has to be made for Get Bouncy, which can be forgotten given the enormity of B1.
Sounding something like n-joi (circa '91) at +8, it's a full-on rave stomper complete with obligatory "Whoo" samples & an evil, twisting riff.
Oh, and of course the very naughty sleeve must be mentioned too. Trust the Dutch to do that! - On this Rotterdam Records release it's all about Amen (the Binnenweg mix). An out and out classic hardcore tune. Dropped by Joey Beltram at Galactica back in 1992. The tune has aged well which shows what quality product Rotterdam Records were creating between 1992 - 1994.
