My copy has some sort of defect despite sitting on a shelf out of direct sunlight (in a dust-free glass case, no less) and only being used four times since purchase in 2002 to put the tracks on my computer. There's this consistent, overwhelming static and it's embedded in every track from start to end, both discs. I have encountered this in my Associates - Singles discs as well, but not with any of my other 2000+ CDs. I don't fancy spending another $30 on these, so I'll be making do with the ones I ripped to my pc. Warner Brothers has some explaining to do.
