- Does anyone know if the is the 'Streets Ahead' (Shem McCauley) that used to DJ for westwood or is it a different streets ahead?
- Edited 13 years agoJust found this in a bargain bin for 50 pence and can't wipe the cheesy grin off my face after seeing the price it goes for on discogs. I've never heard any tracks on this record before even though I have a keen interest in this genre. Quite far out for its time, having some crazy leads/pads and diverse but recognisable samples. Red Lines and Bad Medicine are more four to the floor hardcore techno than breakbeat in my humble opinion but New Experience is a very chilled floaty broken beat track.
- Edited 19 years agoThis has to be my all-time favorite record of which I know absolutely nothing about.
White label, unknown label, and I haven't encountered anyone else who has it ever.
Musical it's techno in general, but with ravey synths, haunting spiritual vocals, thundering breakbeats underneath but what really makes it stand out is the heavy clonking bass sound which in 1991 was unheard of, and well, still is today really!
Way ahead of its time, and in my box forever.
