Reviews
- Edited 6 months agoI remember bugging record stores for ages asking when that "2001 A Space Odyssey" track is coming out after hearing the DJ SS 1 In The Jungle mix way back when. "Dictation" was a definite standout tune with an instantly recognisable intro, stepping breaks with amen inserts and a buzzing bassline which never failed to get my head nodding. I'm not all that fussed about the remix that features on the "Wayz Of The Dragon" album to be honest, much preferring this original version. "Dictation" may not have been for the chin strokers but it was an absolute killer on the dancefloor.
It's also worth noting that "Not Not" is also a worthy track for anyone who loves vintage hip-hop infused, jump-up jungle. A true double A-Side this one. - Edited 8 years agoThis is not the version of dictation that you want!!! It is a lame duck compared to the other versions. As much as I love the DD sound this is one boring ass tune that was played at just about every jungle night back in the day and was a siren to go make yourself busy in the chill out area.
Not Not is more like it, it has a meaty bass line toward the end of the tune and makes up for the other side.
Now.... Who is gonna post some info on the die remix of dictation???
One of you lucky horders must have it? :)
