- Edited 2 years agoYou can buy the vinyls separately, they are also on digital and on CD, 400€ for a box
- there is a good video where richie himself tell us the back story of this album. really interesting stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Xn1-AyYcrk&ab_channel=RichieHawtin.
- Edited 2 years agoJust saw a Richie story on FB, he has like 4 or 5 of these gems, looking all Mint.
- I still want this box so much. I look at the price and think again for now as I am building as Rephex Records techno museum first. Tracks are cold, minimal and still sound fresh. This box will be mine
- Back in da days when Richie released the concept series as single 12" records, I was not ready for this kind of minimal outstanding music. I started interest in electronic music formally known as TECHNO when I got back from my US exchange year in late `93. All my close friends in school were into going to clubs & raves. I hated it in first place. After they took me to Königsburg in Krefeld, Nov. `93 I started DJing and my love to music that only transports emotions out of itself was born. Richie had a quite big delay in releasing the series. I was still in between various styles of techno music developing my own center of interest or name it my own red line... I think I bought the box with all 12" singels (11 of them sealed) some day in 2012. Thanks to Mitte Musik Berlin for that special deal and best price. - to get back to the release itself: I still play some tracks of it, as I do with lots of Richies releases... I am glad the box is in my collection and I can just recommend every techno head to get a hold of his own copy...
- Edited 6 years agoWell, another 10yrs on from the last review, and this all still sounds as fresh as fuck.
Shame they're not available on CD in their entirety tho : ( - Edited 16 years agoThis is a timeless piece of work left for all generations who are into electronic music and care to listen to the uniqueness and cleverness of this minimal artwork.
Copied many times, never equaled.
From the 1st record in this set on, Richie takes us on a mindexcursion with clicks, bleeps, scraping sounds and dubby percussions.
Unique in it's simpleness yet powerfull throughout the 12 releases and timeless throughout the years.
These records we're produced 10 years ago now and are still extremely competetive with a lot of today's minimal releases.
Still used in a lot of mix CD's and to be honest, they still sound as fresh as they did back then.
You can fill a set of one hour just with these 12 records and some imagination to create and work with them as they we're intended to by Richie.
UNIQUE is what it is and what it will always be.
