This record is so goddamned brilliant it makes me want to cry. They had no business still being this phenomenal after a decade-plus hiatus, but, hey. That is what you get from a superlative and original band.

When m b v came out, it was too expensive to even think about buying it. Fortunately, i wait a couple of years and this was ten pucks or so in amazon.
Great record. All songs sound strong and amazing with a high volume. I know that somebody would kill me if i say that i find more interesting and good this than loveless.

This issue's version of "Who Sees You" is worth the price of admission alone. Heard it like I'd never heard it before. Peak of the entire genre.

I have the vinyl in a gatefold sleeve incorporating a cd. The sound is dismal - murky, distant, distorted, unlistenable in fact. The sleeve is just blown up from the cd cover and hence very low res and grainy. Very very very disappointing. My Bloody Valentine were always "lo-fi" but this is ridiculous!

Is this CD version's packaging that is purchased separate from the vinyl format different than the CD that comes in the LP version?

Just seeing this thread now. What a joke! My LP arrived damaged: jacket seam split, bent corners, CD sleeve dislodged and damaged. I wasn't surprised once I saw there wasn't any padding/bubble wrap/packing used to pack my order. I see I'm not the only one. What were (n't) they thinking as they were packing orders. I was promised a replacement on March 7 and haven't received it yet. To make matters worse, it is cheaper to go to Amoeba and buy it. Tossers!

An update to my previous post: I was told via email that my new sleeve is on the way and that they are reworking their packaging to ensure that any future shipments are safe.

MBV is a unique and challenging album with a beauty all its own & some sublime flourishes.
