Notes

This vinyl album has been recorded as an analogue album. It was recorded on 2 inch 24 track analogue tape and mixed onto half inch analogue tape and mastered with no digital processing involved.

The vinyl is a true analogue cut, i.e. it hasn't been put through a digital process during the cutting process unlike over 90% of all vinyl available today.

"The vinyl will be limited due to manufacturing restrictions."

Housed in a gatefold sleeve in the left side and pressed on 180 gram vinyl.
The CD comes in a card sleeve with an 8-page booklet.

Digital download included if purchased through mybloodyvalentine.org/
Copies sold in stores are shrink-wrapped and have a sticker with a barcode

Pressing sounds fine. The recording and mixing…well that might be another matter. Still a fine record though

Analogue cut or not, this sounds compressed and there's a blanket over the speakers. One of my least good sounding lps even taking into account the intentionally lofi aesthetic; I hardly ever listen to it. I nevertheless have an appreciation for the original and still unique dissonant guitar and murky intrigue.

People waited 20 years for MBV’s 3rd album. Another decade went by and despite vinyl prices going berserk and run away inflation, you can pick up this all analog AAA import in the United States for under $20. And it’s legitimately a great album on top of that. Greatest deal on Discogs? Quite possibly!

I grabbed this copy at a local record store in Park Slope NYC. I never heard the record before although I hold You Made Me Realise LP high high. I can say this record sounds amazing. The side B is the best and just captures the whole MBV vibe. The artwork inserts are very high quality and the vinyl itself. You MBV fan who reads it and possibly looking to buy this record go ahead and do it.

I suppose we all knew they weren't going to give us Loveless 2...but, frankly this is just plain awful... Every few years I dig this copy out and spin it again and then it gets put right back in its sleeve and right back on the shelf. It's like if the Beatles had gotten back together and made a Phil Collins album... Almost mystifyingly mediocre. And while I'm slaughtering sacred cows, most of the remastered versions of "loveless" sound terrible compared to the original disc... Good God Kevin just leave well enough alone...😜

I actually quite enjoy this pressing. It's definitely more 'full' than the digital streaming version, and louder. But so was my newer pressing of Loveless which people seemed to really like. I'd be interested to see how it compares to the newer pressing.
Music-wise, while this might not have the same high points as loveless (when you sleep, sometimes, soon) I kind of enjoy it as a whole more than Loveless. It's just as good but in different ways, imo.

A beautiful beautiful album. If it sounds muddy you need a better stylus and/or better speakers. Almost as perfect as Loveless imo and Loveless is the greatest album ever recorded.

Actually a really bad (!!!) record at all. You will not here it twice (which is my personal opinion)

In the email I received today in reference to the upcoming May 2021 reissue it says "Fully analog cuts of the 2013 album m b v will also be available on deluxe and standard LPs globally for the first time". How can that be true when this release was marketed to us as fully analog in 2013?

Anyone have an extra outer sleeve? Mine came damaged when I bought it in 2013 and I stupidly never asked for a new one then.
