- I got this album the day it was released without ever hearing them before but I knew Renaissance wouldn't let me down and they didn't. Like one reviewer said from the opening track all the way through its just bangers of darker melancholy sounding house and techno that is just tops. Ever since then Tale Of Us has been one of my favorite Djs (both) and this comp is one of the best of 2013 for sure and on of my favorite Renaissance albums of all time also.
My favorite mix comp for 2013. The focus here is on track selection, and this mix is nothing but bombs away from start to finish. The mixing is short, sweet, and to the point. Not as quick as Sven Vath, but not as long blended as someone like Danny Howells. The overall vibe is dark and clubby. One hell of a compilation that will age well.- Especially the second disc is more ecstatic for me. (From "Felicity" to "Distant shores") Although the mixing skills among tracks are not seamless this is a quite nice compilation! It worth listening more (and more) not only once...
- Many are giving this positive reviews, so I'm interested in listening to this. I must say, however, that there are quite a few obvious tracks on here - e.g. "Felicity", "Straight & Arrow", "Hate Transmissions", "Water Jump", and "Distant Shores".
