After reading the reviews here maybe I just got lucky but my copy is fantastic!

Really nice imaging & separation, some crackles but that could be a second wet clean needed because it’s VERY quiet & clean sounding. *Update…. Crackle & Pop gone after second clean, in fact, I had a Nqeuepn anti-static brush (the make up blusher type) yeah well ‘Don’t’ use it lol, it creates static, stick to the Audioquest Gold & Milty Zerostat, they are incredible. Don’t even need fancy equipment to test, simply a paper test/kitchen roll and the results are clear & of course with no static present, any minute paper fibres from the test blow straight off. (I use an Air blower after cleans).

It’s quite bright but in a complimentary way with nice distinguished highs. There was one track on side B I found a little ‘too much’ but that’s more my choice in music.

I bought 3 different copies of this great album (1 re-used and 2 new 180 gram pressings) and all 3 skip the album with the same numbers at the same place. I have a 1 year old Pro-ject T1 record player and have never experienced this with any other record. I tried various remediations, like completely cleaning the record (through a spin record washer) and adjusting the weight on the needle but none of that worked. I all cases I had to return the record to the seller.

Great record, excellent sound. Got two nearly exact same copys: the letters of "UK: WX65 925471-1 FLEETWOOD MAC" on the side are red, on my other record white. Can't find the correct copy in Discogs.

This would be my second favourite album by the band, only behind Rumours. Sadly it was the final studio album to date by this line-up, but they definitely ended it on a high.

It is the first time since Rumours that they have tried to repeat that formula and truly succeeded. Tusk is a fantastic record if it is looked on as an experimental one, while Mirage albeit not bad was somewhat disappointing. However here, the songwriting is brilliant from all involved, especially Christine McVie, whose "Little Lies" and "Everywhere" have become classic 1980's hits, and also her co-write with Buckingham "Isn't it Midnight" is a strong number.

Lindsey Buckingham's songs are also commendable, especially 'Big Love' and 'Caroline', and the title track features some of his best guitar work. Stevie Nicks is notably absent for a lot of the record (due to her recovering from rehab), but her brilliant "Seven Wonders" leaves enough of an impression to make up for it, and she can be heard clearly on 'Little Lies' in the chorus.

The only track where I feel the standard dips is Nicks' "Welcome to the Room...Sara", about her stay at the Betty Ford Rehab Clinic. It just feels a bit too repetitive and was maybe unnecessary.

Buckingham and Richard Dashut's production does sound of its time in places, with a fair amount of synths used. However, on songs like the atmospheric "Little Lies" and dreamy "Everywhere" I feel it makes them what they are. And in addition, the vocal harmonies are also fantastic.

The 2017 reissue sounds great, don't feel you need an old pressing. This sounds like an unplayed 1980s copy to me.

The band may have been falling apart, but this is a strong and great-sounding offering from this band. Lindsey Buckingham outdid himself with the production, and the album has a solid yet silky sound all its own.

This pressing does thorough justice to the music: it is a reference-quality offering at a bargain-bin price, lending further credibility to my theory that mastering for vinyl reached its apex in the late 80s.
