- I bought this on a clearance import sale many years ago -- have played it countless times over the years. one of the last gems of 90s electronica. the last two songs alone serve as a cornerstone of potential modern Celtic mysticism and would have made a wonderful EP. the guys in my office at the time used to joke about it being Michael Flatley's Riverdance, and indeed that sound is present, but ultimately they loved it about as much as me. it's a lush, dreamy adventure in a similar way to Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, but has a sound environment all its own which I've never heard anywhere else but within these songs.
- Edited 6 years agoAs a complete album, this is on par with some of Simon Posford's earlier albums, specifically the first two Shpongles. It is an eclectic mix of acoustic and electronica that melds somehow into a cohesive journey that I never tire of taking. Saul Davis and Martin Glover add their creativity to the mix to reveal something astounding.
