Ignore this review I wrote in April 1994; I like every track now:

Summary: Only half of this overpriced compilation is worthwhile.

This compilation of Neil "Leftfield" Barnes' singles from 1990–91 is not worth paying full import CD price for, but it is nice to have on one disc some of the groundbreaking tracks that were two years ahead of their time. "Not Forgotten (Hard Hands Mix)" and both mixes of "Difference" are progressive & tribal house classics that should be in everyone's collection. The More mixes of "More Than I Know" are decent ambient house, though they are dated by the fact that they are constructed of samples -- no knob-twiddling going on here. The rest of the mixes were only included for completeness, at least by today's standards. Leftfield & Guerilla label fans should check this out; others save your money.

My guess is this is one of those items you think you really want and then when you get it and listen to it once you realize how over rated it really is. Come on now 4 mixes in a row each of two tracks. How many times do you need to hear the same song ? I don't think the mixes are all that different from each other and they are really not great songs to begin with. Leftism is an incredible album but I think Leftfield were still just getting their feet wet with these early tracks. I am taking this off my wantlist. Maybe the price would go down if alot of other people that have no intention of actually buying it would do the same.
