Joe Dukie from New Zealand´s hot reggae-soul outfit Fat Freddys Drop is the guest voice on the third Pulver release by Felix Haaksman and his project Dutch Rhythm Combo. Recorded on the hottest day of the Berlin summer, "Venom" sweats excellent funky rhythm and soul grooves in a nice mid tempo.
For "Venom", Felix Haaksman put together a real combo: Joe Dukie sets the pace with his velvet and soulful voice, Mads Krabbe from Kopenhagen brings in the bass and Fat Freddys Drop main horn man Toby Laing picks up the rhythm with his trademark trumpet sound. A Dutch, German, New Zealand, Denmark jam session with a unique, light and airy summer vibe.
After the highly acclaimed "Antilles EP" in 2004, which was charted in many DJ playlists, Felix Haaksman worked on film scores, did remixes and edits for Phoenix, Tosca, Nickodemus and Jalapeno Records and most of all deejayed a lot. With his third release on Pulver Records, the Dutch Rhythm Combo will increase their presence on the dancefloor. The additional remixes of "Venom", by Icasol from Germany and London´s hot ticket remixer Dr. Rubberfunk provide extra grooviness. And for sure will intensify the Dutch Rhythm Combo´s DJ rotation.
