By 1980 I was much more a fan of The Buggles than of Yes. Between the awful "Tomato" and "Drama" I had gravitated to New Wave and had largely left Prog behind, but I have always enjoyed "Drama." I have finally heard this pressing. The 7" single mixes seem like radical-re-thinks of the tracks. Shocking to finally hear these after so many years. The results differed so greatly from the album versions that they seemed more like alternate takes or remixes than edits. I did't even know that those were the US singles, since I only ever saw the video for "Tempus Fugit"at the time of release, I thought that was the selected single.

The new instrumental material was loose and raw. I had not realized that the Paris Session material was recorded with the "Tormato" lineup" before the lineup change! While I thought "Dancing Through The Light" was a radical/fun slice of technopop for Yes that almost prefigured the early 80s synth pop sound, the rest of this material represented a nightmare of what I absolutely didn't want from Yes at that point. Jon Anderson invoking the New Age and carrying on in the "Tormato" vein. I would have preferred that Rhino would have left off the vocal Paris Session material on "Drama" and had put it on their "Tormato" DLX RM disc instead. So I would have never heard it.
