i found this one lying around between some oldies, i couldnt resist, mint condition and i love 'Tahiti Hut' but jesus christ stuff like 'Piña Colada' (actual spelling) has NOTHING to it, lol. its like an automatic funk-fusion beat going nowhere and barely doing anything, lacking any hook or catch whatsoever. so linear. other two keepers for me are the title track and the cute take on 'Take the A Train'. but to this day i can't take the dude seriously.

4 great guitarists on hand here...Larry Carlton, George Benson, John Tropea and Al McKay from Earth, Wind and Fire.
All have their time to shine. Sleeper track of the album...Chariots Of The Gods, theme music from the 1973 movie.
John Tropea with another fine solo.

Another fantastic Deodato record. I friggin' love this dude.

It's like... lounge music, but it doesn't suck...

Very impressive smooth jazzy-pop album. Life is very comfortable listening to tracks like San Juan Sunset, with this 2 giants like Eumir and TLP on the wheel you can't miss this treasure!

My compatriot Eumir Deodato, laying down one of his best albums, personally speaking. Late 70s laid-back jazz with a Brazilian touch, following with a subtlety, inspiration and smoothness that only few can make, and Deodato is one of those men. Excellent album (for the hip-hop heads, great source for sampling). Along with Tommy LiPuma producing, it gets impossible to miss.

This music, 39 years later, still fills me of joy and emotions .What a fanfastic period for music !

Just listened/picked this up today. A perfect tune for good weather and sitting back. It has a lot of funky elements blended with some smooth jazz. Similar Elements to Jack McDuff's "Kisses" album.
