I’m wondering if Isis is called after dj (100%) Isis - https://www.discogs.com/artist/238218-100-Isis

no one mentioned the short version of "Isis" on this 12", which is actually the reason for me why the record is so strong: Isis is a short but effective tool, nothing more, but strong and great for build ups. recently played by master selector jamie tiller on nts. the radical mix of here and now is also alright.

Here And Now (Radical Mix) as played by Matthew B in many a set back in the good old days, in particular a set at Tooto's along with Slipmatt which i have the tape from..Wicked Club.

"Playing With Knives" is the best rave tune of all time or at least the most emblematic. "Midsummernight's Dream" is clearly in the same mold and almost as good. Nosebleed synths alternate with euphoric riffs. The particular melody here is pretty much the Platonic ideal of a rave riff. There's a sort of but not quite breakbeat pushing the thing along and the momentum never slacks. Not a lot of elements but never once boring in its six and a half minutes. Wise choice to avoid overused samples which dull the impact of so many tunes.
