1990... are you kidding me??? I picked this up maybe in 92 or 93 on vinyl from sonic groove records in NYC. Checks.every.single.box.

The deep, subby 4/4 intro on 'The Gonzo' is identical to the intro of 'Spank Spank' by Phuture / Phuture Pfantasy Club (Trax, 1988) but with all the top end treble subdued. Just putting it out there ! Killer cut and raved about in The Face magazine at the time of release.

The bleep is sampled from the start of the hardcore mix of MC Showbizz & The Lap 1 Crew's Gotta Turn The Music Up.

Steve Bicknells first work I think and stands the test of time, I first heard this on a Kiss FM mix they used to do every friday or saturday night, that went on for a couple of hours. Classic breakbeat, meets bleeps, meets sax mash up... The B Side is also pretty useful.

A must have for those who were there in these early-ish days 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Dunno about this being under-rated :) Smashed at the time, and still is. Absolutely killer with the likes of MBM Radio Babylon (as noted below), We Are IE, 4 for Money, Jailbreak etc.

It's all about The Gonzo... A very under rated 12". Slick production, a track that's easy to mix, lots going on in this - from the slow, siren like start, horns kicking in, then the drum + bass, top that off with some bleeps and female vocals. Don't forget the 'whoo whoo' sample from Total Confusion too.

LTJ Bukem is still playing this in his old skool set + you should too. Get it!

Summer of 1993. I actually think if was the Forth of July. Robbie Hardkiss played this 2:30am'ish, BLOWIN' MINDS and making us all RAVE! Good memories.

My all time favourite track for mixing. Slow build just goes with almost any style off dance music
