Reviews
- A really strong house LP. If someone tells you there's not many or any good house LPs, add this to your list of albums to fire at them. It's great.
- Edited 2 years agoAcid thunder is a great record but on a 12" The version on this album got killed by the Acid Thuner over done sample. What happened to the awesome vocals?
- Edited 17 years agoLong before the Hague retro acid revival and when the current generation of cbs robots were still in their diapers, DJ Fast Eddie pioneered hip house and acid. This album still sounds so fresh and funky today.
The amazing thing about all this was that Fast Eddie, along with Joe Smooth and Rocky Jones, managed to inject enough soul and pop sensibility into the funky acid songs that they made an impact in cities and clubs across America where you would never have heard this kind of stuff played before. Acid Thunder would brush shoulders with Rick Astley (shudder!) and Blue Monday in the same DJ sets at clubs. Your average mainstream Joe got a chance to work that body to acid bubbles he had never heard before. Where/who can do that nowadays? DJ Fast Eddie - one subversive motherfucker.
Everything else still pales in comparison. Long live hip house and aceeeeeed!
