Reviews
- My friends and I always joked that it was the "tastes like chicken" song.
"Yes, I'm groovin'!" The original, spartan 1992 classic is updated here for 1993 with two arguably unnecessary remixes. Thankfully, both original versions are here for those who missed them the first time around.
Gypsy's treatment is in their usual busy, buzzy, proto-Goa trance style, dated but tolerable. Boomshanka's version gives it more of a deep, Garage house feel, adding more harmony and melody, yet still working in the spacious, repetitive, trancey elements that make progressive "progressive".
It's easy to find and is definitely worth picking up as a quality example from the progressive house genre, but if you're buying it on vinyl, keep an eye out for a well-cared-for copy, because it got a lot of play in the day and is hard to find in top condition.
The vocal sample "bass line kickin'" is sometimes heard as "baste my chicken" or "bake my chicken".
