Notes

First issue.
Released with the cover hidden under black shrink wrap with a round Wish You Were Here sticker on the outside of the shrink wrap. Spine is narrow (pinched) at the top and bottom and wide in the middle on some covers, and uniformed on others (like all spines). Issued with lyrics on a die cut inner sleeve and a glossy postcard, with jagged edges, of a diving man.

This version's inner sleeve is die cut on 3 of the 4 corners. Another version (Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here) is die cut on all corners.

On label side 1, Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 5 is credited to "Waters-Gilmour-Wright" (later have "Waters" only).

Opening at top center with notch.

Matrix variants A1 / B3 are the first press of this record, other matrix are further pressings but still first issue of this LP.

This is by far the best UK pressing. The 2nd is pretty close, whereas the 2016 remaster just lacks the depth and warmth of this.
Highly recommended... Nice clean playing copy is what you want.

Getting a depth, realness and liveliness on Gilmour’s guitar playing on this version and a clarity (including being distortion free) I haven’t experienced on my other copies (Greek first, Australian first, 2016? Remaster). This is my go to listening copy for those reasons.

My Spanish version has the Matrix:
Side A: 066-96918-A , a bit more on the side it appears to be " O M II" or maybe it is "O E =" ? Or maybe it is " II M O" , very difficult for me to know in what order it goes and orientation.
Side B: 064-96918-B , and here a bit more to the side it appears what i believe it is " P H "

I could share picture if needed.

I would very much appreciate if someone could help me, i've been trying to find the spanish version matching this matrix and i cannot find it here at all.

This record has come to me from my father. He couldn't confirm but i can imagine he bough this record in 1975 when it was out, as it seems to be the first version he owned. I might be wrong.
        thanks!

I have this Pink Floyd record. Unfortunately, it smells like coffee. I don't like the smell. The record is VG but plays like VG+

I have an A1/B3 pressing but part 5 only has Waters on the credit. It says here that’s on later versions but I can’t find an A1/B3 anywhere else but on this first one. Can someone point me in the right direction or is this going to be an edit on one when I finally figure which one it is?

              Thanks all!

                Love this pressing sounds phenomenal.
But I am struggling to match my Matrix runouts.
My copy has all the elements stated in the notes section (apart from postcard black rap and sticker, I presume lost over the years)
My copy side 1 SVHL 814 A-1 GHR three dots 2
                Side 2 SVHL 814 B-3 GRO three dots 4
Could anyone please advise me if this is a another variant ?
                Thanks in advance

I've the argentinian 1975 pressing. Excelent sounding record even after more than 40 years of use. Sound very dynamic and loud.

Regardless of pressing quality, are there any clear vinyl versions of WYWH? Copies that actually match what the faceless man holds on the sleeve itself?
