- I've got two A1/B7 pressings and both skip on Have A Cigar and Wish You Were Here. It skips at the louder parts of the song(s) and the only way it doesn't skip is to put the anti skate almost full or full and even then you can hear ticks like the stylus is about to skip although it stays in the groove. (Yes, The tracking force is set correctly and even if it is 3 grams it still skips) Side 1 and Shine On You Crazy Diamond 6-9 also have no problem with normally set anti-skate as do both of my german pressings. I've got no other record in my collection with a problem like this. Is this cut really that loud and is there anyone else who has problems with this cut or anyone who can notice the needle about to go off at louder parts of Have A Cigar?
- This is a beautiful album by Pink Floyd and this UK 1st. pressing A1/B3 sounds great. The sound is fresh, punchy, airy and crispy.
- Edited 4 months agoSide 1 "SHVL 814 A-1 GGL ∴ 3"
Side 2 "SHVL 814 B-3 GGP ∴ 2"
Both GGL and GGP are based around 9 o'clock on matrix, vertical from top down like so:
G G
G G
L P
Shine on part 5 credited: (Waters- Gilmour-Wright)
Can someone please help identify? - Edited 6 months agoI have an A1/B5 on runout. Should that be listed here? It has inner with 3 corners cut, full credits on Part 5 and the glossy postcard.
- Own this copy and the remaster copy. The re-master copy’s vocal stand out, other parts are less able to hear compare to the first press. The re-master version also sounds more quiet, less big sound, more-coherent and rounded sound as a whole (sounds more natural and comfortable, but less impact), both are great copy in its own way.
- This is by far the best UK pressing. The 2nd is pretty close, whereas the 2016 remaster just lacks the depth and warmth of this.
Highly recommended... Nice clean playing copy is what you want. - Edited one year agoGetting a depth, realness and liveliness on Gilmour’s guitar playing on this version and a clarity (including being distortion free) I haven’t experienced on my other copies (Greek first, Australian first, 2016? Remaster). This is my go to listening copy for those reasons.
- Edited one year agoMy Spanish version has the Matrix:
Side A: 066-96918-A , a bit more on the side it appears to be " O M II" or maybe it is "O E =" ? Or maybe it is " II M O" , very difficult for me to know in what order it goes and orientation.
Side B: 064-96918-B , and here a bit more to the side it appears what i believe it is " P H "
I could share picture if needed.
I would very much appreciate if someone could help me, i've been trying to find the spanish version matching this matrix and i cannot find it here at all.
This record has come to me from my father. He couldn't confirm but i can imagine he bough this record in 1975 when it was out, as it seems to be the first version he owned. I might be wrong.
thanks! - Can anyone please halp me identify, which version of the record I have.
Identifiers:
Label - Harvest
year 1975
the inner has round edges. - I have an A1/B3 pressing but part 5 only has Waters on the credit. It says here that’s on later versions but I can’t find an A1/B3 anywhere else but on this first one. Can someone point me in the right direction or is this going to be an edit on one when I finally figure which one it is?
Thanks all!
