Edited 9 months agoEasy listening krautrock. Shows that Klaus Dinger was indispensable as the other half of Neu to give it that much-needed edginess.
Listen to the third song on side A - "Stromlinien" - and you will hear the Portishead did a rip off with their single THE RIP (on their third album).- "Sonnenrad" is one of the best instrumental compositions ever! It's so calming and uplifting at the same time, and moves with an insistent but measured pace, it really is a wonder to hear. Moreover, it was an inspiration for Ultravox's great hit "Dancing with tears in my eyes", which only gives it a double weight of greatness. The rest of the album is nothing to sneeze at, but "Sonnenrad" is on the whole other level altogether.
